How to Configure SCIM Provisioning in Tenor

SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) provisioning lets Tenor automatically sync users from your Identity Provider (IdP). Set up provisioning in just a few steps in Tenor's Admin Portal.

  1. Go to Admin > SCIM

  2. Click Create
  3. Select your IdP

  4. Set a name for your connection

  5. Follow the on-screen instructions depending on your selected IdP

Open your IdP’s admin console in a separate tab and create or edit a SCIM provisioning app/integration for Tenor.

    • Follow the step-by-step instructions depending on your IdP
    • You will be asked to copy & paste values to your IdP

  1. Once you've completed the on-screen instructions, click Done
  2. Verify Provisioning
    • In Tenor, go to Admin → Users.
    • From your IdP, create or update a test user (e.g., add a new “Test SCIM User” or modify a user’s job title).
    • Within a few minutes, confirm that the new user appears (or the update is reflected) in Tenor.

💡 Important:

  • Will enabling SCIM prevent users from editing their profiles manually?

Yes. Once SCIM is active, end users will not be able to edit certain fields like:

    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Time Zone
    • Job Title

All changes to these fields must come through SCIM from your IdP.

  • What other attributes can Tenor map from SCIM values?
    • City
    • Country
    • Cost Center
    • Department
    • Division
    • Manager's Name
  • Does Tenor support custom SCIM attributes?

Apart from the attributes listed above, custom fields are not supported yet.

Following these steps will enable automated user and group management for any SCIM-compatible IdP. Once configured, any time your IdP creates, updates, or deprovisions a user, Tenor will reflect those changes automatically.
