The AI character can't hear me

If the AI character can't hear you, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:


Check the Transcript

  • Click on 'Show Transcript' to see what the AI character is saying.
  • If there's no content after the character's greeting, the issue might be with your microphone settings. Ensure Tenor has access to your microphone and try again.

Microphone Input Troubleshooting


macOS

  1. Open System Settings:
    • Click on the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen.
    • Select "System Settings."
  1. Navigate to Sound Settings:
    • In the System Settings window, click on "Sound."
  1. Check Sound Input:
    • Go to the "Input" tab.
    • Ensure that the correct microphone is selected under "Select a device for sound input."
    • Speak into your microphone to test if the input levels respond.
  1. Reload the App Page:
    • After confirming the correct microphone input, reload the app page.

Windows

  1. Open Settings:
    • Press Windows + I to open the Settings menu.
    • Alternatively, click on the Start menu and select "Settings."
  1. Navigate to Sound Settings:
    • Click on "System."
    • In the System settings, select "Sound."
  1. Check Input Device:
    • Scroll down to the "Input" section.
    • Under "Choose your input device," select the correct microphone from the dropdown list.
    • Speak into your microphone to test if the input levels respond.
  1. Reload the App Page:
    • After confirming the correct microphone input, reload the app page.

Additional Tips

  • Ensure your microphone is properly connected to your device.
  • If using an external microphone, make sure it is plugged into the correct port.
