How to Connect Slack to Tenor

Connecting Slack to Tenor enables you to interact with Tenor’s AI Coach directly in a private Slack thread, making it easy to access leadership learning and practice conversations on the go, 24/7. Whether you're between meetings or winding down for the day, your coach is just a message away.

💡 Important Notes:

• Only users with Tenor Admin access can set up Slack integrations.
• To use the AI Coach directly from Slack, the Slack user's profile email must match the email associated with their account in Tenor. If the emails don’t match, the integration will not recognize the user. To clarify, usernames and emails are case-sensitive, so the casing needs to match in Tenor.

Follow the steps below to set up the Slack integration:

✅ Step-by-Step Instructions to Connect Slack

1. Log in to Tenor

   Go to https://app.tenorhq.com and log in using your work email.

2. Open the Admin Dashboard

   Click the Admin tab at the top of the page.

3. Go to Other Integrations

   In the left sidebar under Integrations, click Other Integrations.

4. Click “Connect Slack”

   You’ll see an option to Connect Slack — click this button to begin setup.

5. Authorize Tenor in Slack

You’ll be redirected to Slack’s authorization screen. Follow the prompts:

• Select the correct Slack workspace.
• Click Allow to grant Tenor the required permissions.

6. Confirmation

After approval, you’ll return to Tenor and see a confirmation that Slack is successfully connected.

7. Find Tenor in Slack

After authorization, Tenor’s AI Coach will be added to your Slack workspace. Depending on how many apps your Slack org already has, you may see Tenor appear automatically under the Apps section in your Slack sidebar (typically at the bottom). If not, click “Add apps” and search for Tenor to add it manually.

💬 What Happens Next?

Once Slack is connected:

• You can send private messages to Tenor’s AI Coach right within Slack.
• Tenor's AI Coach will respond in a private thread, so your learning stays confidential.
• You can receive coaching tips without ever leaving Slack.

📊 A note on analytics: Any Coach usage that happens through Microsoft Teams or Slack is fully captured in the Analytics dashboard within Tenor. There's no need to log into the Tenor web app for your conversations to be tracked — all interactions are recorded regardless of where they take place.
